This Privacy Policy explains how MotorXcel (“we,” “us,” or “our”), 735 W Bel Air Ave, Aberdeen, MD 21001, handles information through www.motorxcel.com and through MotorXcel’s connection to TikTok. Our auto repair website, www.motorxcelservice.com, has its own Privacy Policy.

1. Information we collect

• Information you give us: Your name, phone number, email address, and any vehicle details or messages you share with us by phone, text, email, or in person. This website has no online forms; you reach us by calling or texting 410-425-1100.
• Usage data: Pages visited, browser and device type, approximate location, referring website, and similar data collected automatically through Google Analytics (Google tag).
• Hosting and security data: Our website is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

2. How we use your information

• Respond to your questions and requests.
• Run and improve our business, website, and services.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not pull credit reports through this website.

3. Our TikTok connection

MotorXcel uses TikTok’s developer tools (Login Kit, the Display API, and the Content Posting API) to manage MotorXcel’s own TikTok account. This connection is used only by MotorXcel staff for our own account.

• What we read: Basic profile information (such as display name, avatar, and account ID), follower and like counts, and stats for our videos (such as views, likes, comments, and shares).
• What we upload: Video drafts we create, sent to MotorXcel’s TikTok inbox. A MotorXcel staff member reviews and publishes each draft in the TikTok app. Posts of our own content may also be scheduled through a third-party scheduling or automation service, such as Buffer or Zapier.
• What we don’t do: We do not read private messages, we do not post to anyone else’s account, and we do not collect information about people who view or follow our videos beyond the totals TikTok provides.
• How tokens are stored: The access tokens TikTok issues are stored securely with restricted access, are used only for the features above, and are never shared.

TikTok’s own handling of data is covered by the TikTok Privacy Policy.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, including any data received from TikTok. We share it only in these limited cases:

• Service providers: Vendors that help us run our business, such as website hosting (Cloudflare), analytics (Google), scheduling or automation services (such as Buffer or Zapier), accounting, and payments. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
• Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or government authority.
• Business transfers: If our business is merged or sold, your information may be transferred as a business asset.

5. Cookies and analytics

This website uses the Google tag (Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site. It uses cookies and similar technologies. Cloudflare may also set technical cookies needed for security and performance. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services, and opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

6. Appointments and text messages

This website does not book appointments or sign you up for text messages. Online appointment scheduling is on www.motorxcelservice.com and is covered by its privacy policy. If you choose to receive texts from MotorXcel, our SMS Terms apply. Phone numbers and SMS consent collected for text messaging are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

7. How long we keep data

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. TikTok profile and video stats are kept only as long as needed for our own reporting. If the TikTok connection is disconnected, we stop collecting new TikTok data and delete the stored tokens.

8. Disconnecting TikTok and deleting data

• Disconnect: The TikTok account owner can remove MotorXcel’s access at any time in the TikTok app under Settings and privacy → Security → Apps and services (Manage app permissions), then remove the MotorXcel app.
• Request deletion: To ask us to delete data we received from TikTok or any other personal information we hold, call or text 410-425-1100 or visit us at 735 W Bel Air Ave, Aberdeen, MD 21001. We will confirm when it is done.

9. Data security

We use reasonable measures to protect information. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your rights and choices

You may ask us for a copy of, or to correct or delete, the personal information we hold about you, subject to legal requirements. Contact us using the information below.

11. Children’s privacy

This website is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page with a new effective date.
